The new season is here and it's time to get registered for Mooroondu FC!!

The Football Brisbane calendar has been released and we will be starting all trainings very soon, as the roster season commences in March for MiniRoos and Junior Competitions and Over 35s.  Senior mens teams will be hitting the park in February.  Sign on is available online at www.myfootballclub.com.au or you can visit the clubhouse for more information on Saturday Feb 7 between 2 and 4pm.

Senior Mens

We will be fielding teams in the Capital and City league of the Football Brisbane competitions, and two team in the QLD Lions Masters (Over 35s) competitions.

Training has commenced -

Over 35s training queries can be directed to Kym at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. - training has commenced Tuesday and Thursday nights at 7pm

Juniors

Teams for U12 - U15 will be formed once registrations are received.  Grading games are only occurring for U12 this season, with other age groups using last year's performance as a guide for Football Brisbane's allocation to divisions.   Junior team registrations will be capped at 16 players, once this number is reached, players will be on a waiting list for a second team.

Mini Roos

Under 6 and Under 7 players will continue to play in an in-house competition (provided sufficient teams are registered).  These games will be on Saturday mornings at WIlliam Taylor Sportfields with Under 6 at 9.30am and Under 7 at 10.15am.
Under 8-Under 11 teams will play in Football Brisbane competitions and will travel to other clubs for the home/away season.  We do request that all Mooroondu teams play in Redlands based hubs but we cannot guarantee how Football Brisbane allocate teams to competitions.

MiniRoos football (soccer) is all about fun!  It's about the players building skills and having fun with friends wherever possible - if your child wants to play with their friends, we do our best to accommodate this, particularly in the lower age groups.  As the children progress through age groups, we do need to consider skill level of teams (and their appropriate competitions) to ensure safety of players, as well as enjoyment.

Joeys

Our Joeys program will again be run on Saturday mornings at 8.30am for our youngest Roos - those aged 3-5 years.  This program aims to have children explore basic skills and techniques through fun activities and game play.

Coaching

All our coaches are volunteers - without coaches our players and teams cannot develop.  We ask that U6 and U7 teams work within the parent group to have a volunteer for the coaching role.  Support is given for drills and skill development from qualified coaches within our club, at training and games.  If you are interested in coaching a team, please contact This email address is being protected from spambots. Volunteer Levy refund

In recognition of volunteer contributions to our club - after 5 hours of service, each family can request a refund of $60 of their registration fees.  There are many roles that can contribute to the 5 hours - coaching and managing teams are obvious, but there are also BBQ and canteen duties, administrative support for muster day and carnivals, social event coordination and the like.  Contact This email address is being protected from spambots. Junior Referees

At Mooroondu we have a group of junior players that act as game leaders for our MiniRoos games.  These juniors are taking on this role so parents, coaches and managers can be involved in supporting players from the sidelines.  Please support these juniors and provide feedback to a committee member if required.  If you are 11 years or older and would like to be a Junior Ref at Mooroondu, please express your interest by sending contact details to This email address is being protected from spambots. Phew, that's about it for the first update of the season...  if you would like to be involved with the committee running our club, please come along to the meeting at the Clubhouse on Monday February 9th at 7pm for a 7.15pm start.
